What is it?
It’s a legally registered company who's membership and accounts are submitted to companies house. It is registered and works in exactly the same way as New Charter with Directors, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Board Members but obviously on a smaller scale.
What is it purpose?
It works in Partnership with New Charter regarding housing issues, repairs and day to day running of the estate office and staff. It is there for good of the estate and genuine issues raised by residents and tenants will be looked into and the board will address the situation with the relevant parties. We have a sub-committee which runs alongside the main board they are involved with non housing issues such as the
development on Bailey’s Backs, Britain In Bloom and trying to provide amenities and events and of course the fabulous weekly estate lottery. (If your not already a member please join every penny helps towards bigger projects).
How Does it Function?
The Board meets every 6 weeks to cover issues regarding policy and finance, and to tackle situations which have been bought to the boards attention from yourselves.
The social committee (community builders) meet weekly. They do the weekly draw and discuss ideas and plans for the future projects and events. Some members of the sub committee are also on the main board but we have members who are just on the social committee and other people who are not on any committee but help out on a regular basis.
